TOPIC: All schools in New Zealand should have the same uniform. (Affirmative)

In New Zealand there is a serious problem surrounding school uniforms!  Uniform connects people and signifies a purpose!  There is countless problems with the current situation involving uniform, because of this I am writing about why I think that ‘all schools in New Zealand should have the same uniform!’

Firstly in New Zealand many schools are without any form of uniform.  This is normally because schools aren’t bothered to put a uniform in because it isn’t required by law , but uniform can unite people of all backgrounds, races and ages together.  Uniform has been shown to rapidly increase productivity and teamwork, for it also builds social skills.  The benefits of uniform are undeniably beneficial , for their effectes carrying through the person's life. It gets students into the habit of preparing for school and using uniform in other places.  It is beneficial to students ;therefore, it is a valid option for all schools!

Secondly manufacturers of clothing spend a large sum on making different production lines for each design of uniform.  This money can be saved by these manufacturers that would translate to cheaper costs for consumers.  At the moment uniform prices are extremely expensive compared to the same piece of clothing without any customisation!  If all schools have the same uniform that would also mean that ‘hand me downs’ would be more effective ;therefore, letting them carry across generations, for it would also mean when changing schools it would cross over, from primary to intermediate, from Christchurch to Auckland etc.

Lastly in urban areas there is extreme amounts of bullying around different schools.  With some schools having lower deciles than others ;in effect, this causes the high decile schools to tease the lower decile students about their school, this can be limited and stopped if all students have the same uniform.  As shown in my reasoning about schools without uniform I mentioned ‘Uniform can unite people of all backgrounds, races and ages together.’  If there could be the introduction of the same uniform to all of the schools would unite the students of the schools, make them feel as one education group.

The problem in New Zealand is immense, for some schools lack uniform, which can have the students being shy, it can make them lack social skills and limits on their production of work.  With the pricing of uniform at the time I write this is extremely expensive for what it is and finally with bullying around schools in urban areas would drop.  These are all reasons that  have directed my opinion on why I think and hopefully you do that all schools in New Zealand should have the same uniform.
