Last week we went to Wellington, I had a lot of fun. I have had a shortage of posts so this will makeup for this. We travelled down to Lower Hut on Sunday, it took about 8 hours in the horrible traffic. We went to Zealandia, a reserve set up in Wellington, we were there to learn about nature and to have a close up look at the New Zealand bush. We went to the Holocaust Centre were we learnt about the Holocaust and saw a survivor that talked to us, personally this was my least favourite spot, but was still interesting. We went to the Space Place, an observatory in central Wellington. We were told about the history of the observatory and general space knowledge, the had heaps of interactive displays and we saw a presentation on the stars and a short movie projected onto a dome, it was amazing! After that we took the cable car down to the streets were we walked to parliament. We had a wonderful time at Parliament! We were greeted by Andrew Little! He talked to us and wished us luck! Then our tour guide came he introduced us to himself and showed us around. At Parliament they had a small educational room that was like a small Parliament, after that we went to the debating chamber and walked around the other various rooms. Unfortunately they weren't sitting, but that meant we could go anywhere! Weta Workshop was a wonderful experience, with us seeing many movie props and learning about the two companies. We went to a museum to learn about the Wahine disaster. This was ok, but wasn't the best. The ONTV studio was wonderful, they had all of the stuff that you need to make a show, I was Vision Mixer, it involved changing the cameras and getting the vision director to set the shot up correctly. After that we did virtual reality which we coded onto Google Cardboard through Unity. Exploring my world in VR was a wonderful experience! After that we went to Te Papa, it is the National museum. We went to the bug exhibit that held larger than life models of bugs that were extremely interactive, it was a fun experience. We went to the Zoo, I saw many different animals and was inspired by the place. Our final activity was snorkeling, we got into wet suits and masks. We went into the water with an adult and a partner. I saw a lot of Blue Moki and all sorts of other fish, this was my first time doing it. After that on Friday we went home.
My time is Wellington was wonderful , unfortunately a lot of detail I may of missed out. The time line of the events is extremely vague in my memory so it translates to a confusing time line. Otherwise I loved the trip!
