Writing Assignment (Letter To Mrs Crowe)

Dear Mrs Crowe

Thank you for letting me into this wonderful class that is Room 3 for 2017 and hopefully next year.   I am hoping that this year will be one of my best year in my education.  I am replying to your task to write a personal letter.

I have lived in Te Awamutu for my whole life.  With me even born in Te Awamutu, I have only lived in one household. I live near the skate park, though I have no interest in skateboarding. I play football/soccer and also tennis.  I am also in the Te Awamutu Scout Group, though unfortunately I could not attend the Jamboree in 2016.

I have 2 sisters, Rachel and Flora, also I have a brother called Rupert, though they have all long ago moved out before I was born.  My mum’s name is Rosalind and my dad’s name being Alan.  My dad comes from a small village called Gedling near Nottingham in England, and my mum is a kiwi who grew up in Wanganui.  All of my family is in NZ, except my dad's brother called Robert whom I haven’t seen in person.  I am also an uncle somehow to my brother’s children, one is called April and the other one is called Austin, with them being adults, with my dad being a grandpa.

I have several pets. I have a dog called Axel that is a Border Collie, he is aged 13.  We also have 2 cats, one called Patches, that is aged 1, and the other cat is called Winnie that is 19, unfortunately we think Winnie will pass away soon, with her back legs failing her and her overall age.  We also have fish, so many we can’t count them all, with 3 big goldfish that are about 5 years old and many smaller fish.  I have had 2 cats perish while living with us, more recently a cat called Jeremy, he died at the age of 1, he was run over on the road, he was an adventurous cat.  Unfortunately it was his curiosity that lead to his demise.  With the other cat called Gedling that died when I was 3, so I don’t know much about him.  I also had a dog perish, his name was Biggles, nicknamed the flying dog, because that was what he did. Biggles was standing on the train tracks and got hit by a train and flew into the sky. Biggles died at the age of 17, with him surviving the train incident, I was 4 when he died, it was in April.

This is some basic information about me, this is all I can go over in such a little space as this to write about myself.  I hope you learnt something else about me!

Yours sincerely
Alexander James Mather

  1. Well I am also from Wanganui (and I will never spell it with a 'h'!). My family still live there! Thank you for giving me some background about yourself.
